Dr. John Aldrich wins the prestigious UT-Austin President’s Staff Award!

We’re delighted to celebrate Dr. John Aldrich - a Research Scientist in the lab - who won a prestigious 2026 UT-Austin President’s Staff Award! This is an incredibly prestigious honor that the university bestows upon exemplary staff members. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional dedication, creativity, and scientific rigor that Dr. Aldrich brings to everything he does.

Over the years, Dr. Aldrich's contributions to the lab have been remarkable. He has played a central role in eight grant proposals, authored three high-impact manuscripts, and made a seamless transition from the study of fruit fly genetics, to leading cutting-edge research in neuroinflammation, circadian rhythms, and spinal cord injury. His work has brought meaningful visibility to UT-Austin and the Gaudet lab at local and international conferences, strengthening the university's standing as a leader in innovative research.

Beyond the bench, Dr. Aldrich is a devoted mentor who leads with encouragement. In the Gaudet Lab, he has fostered an environment where every member of the lab feels empowered to pursue their ideas and inspired to thrive. His impact - both scientific and personal - has been transformative.

Congratulations John, the whole lab is cheering for you!
